I’m wondering if I can convert super abundant wind energy in northern scotland into light to help extend the growing season for salad crops. Will the embodied energy of the technology be compensated for by increased growth in plants and fewer food miles? What do you reckon?

The graphs would have been great had the x-axis range been consistent for each. I didn’t even notice it at first.

Also makes me think of the importance of the red early/morning light during sunrise/sunset. Might explain if you have problems getting plants to bloom as quick as they should.It is interesting to create the homemade spectragraph to see what type of light is really putting out, not just what the box advertises.

Great information. Knowing the mechanics of “why” on this is very helpful. I’m a big fan of LED lights anyway, so this is an added bonus.I currently have some lettuce growing indoors under a full spectrum fluorescent bulb. Good results, but I’m always searching for new options. Thanks
