Sorry this one is busted, if you really want to you can eat a Poinsettia this Christmas though I have heard it tastes really bad and may give you a stomachache. Apparently this myth started over 100 years ago when sadly a child was found dead next to a Poinsettia plant and was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time for the plant and…
Photo from Alberta Home Gardening You’re not the only one who enjoys your garden–deer, rabbits and even household pets may find your flowers or vegetables to be tasty treats. And, of course, dogs and cats may mistake your garden beds for a great place to do their business. While organic or eco-friendly pest control is a good idea for combating any type of pest, it is especially important to…
I wasn’t exactly good about eating my lettuce last year, after a few weeks of neglect the plants began to flower and eventually created some seeds. At the end of the season I pulled out the plants to dry out a little more and eventually forgot about them for a few months. width=”549″ height=”366″ /> Here are some awesome modular hydroponics setups by Home Lohas. Pretty much a supersized version of an Aerogarden, they use timers and proprietary selection of nutrient solutions to provide produce without soil and advertised in harvest times with 30% less time. They use a full spectrum LED light system to provide adequate light without running up a huge water bill. Lights/pumps are completely automated so pretty…

Nope, this is not a mix up in the date in this post. Last Easter we received as a gift from a friend, after the foliage had died off I planted I planted the bulb and what was left of the foliage in one of my garden beds. Given how the plant is forced to bloom in March/April I was pessimistic that it would even bloom at all, let…

Good one! I believe to have a good imagination and always seem to start with junk. Recycle is the best cycle, anyway.
People have been doing great things with junk for 1000’s of years. Now reason to stop now…
I love this! We just got cable & this quote is perfect to moderate overreaction to the shows about hoarding. As with most things in life, moderation is the key but a nice bunch of junk DOES stimulate my imagination!
Fortunately I seem to keep my hoarding to two Rubbermaid containers (one for gardening, one for electronics) guess a little overflow onto my workbench. But I agree must practice moderation…
