I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Sage and Rosemary are two repeating ingredients in which I typically would get from my herb garden but appears I was a bit lapsed on my watering this summer and plants didn’t make it, so I was forced to buy some fresh herbs from…
width=”550″ height=”664″ /> I came across this interesting infographic showing pretty cool information about the home gardener I thought I would share. I couple of interesting items were the average garden size and the economics of U.S. food gardens. UPDATE: Some resources to see how profitable your garden can be: most profitable fruits and most profitable vegetables.
Other than gardening I also enjoy cooking manly foods such as chili and BBQ rubs. One seasoning I have heard being used for both recently was jalapeno pepper powder. Not seeing any in local stores and having an abundance of jalapeno peppers in my garden I decided to attempt to make my own. 1. Congratulations to you, Ashley!
Thank you. I found out that I won after a very stressful day. It really turned my day around.
Hi! I would like to encourage people to use non-chemical fertilizers and insecticides. Insecticides are poison- they kill the beneficial insects (and birds and get into the water supply…etc) that help the soil and plants stay healthy . I make a recipe from Howard Garrett’s book, which includes molasses, seaweed fertilizer, and garlic to deter unwanted insects.
Study shows (on a pro-organic site) that organic pesticides also kill the good bugs too! (ladybugs, bees, etc.)
