Okay what’s weird about this product, is the word ‘hair’ is stated ONE TIME on the front page. I didn’t see any reference to hair, human or otherwise, in text or video.Does anyone else think this idea is grody to the max? 😉
Sorry, this one really grosses me out. I know some people compost their family’s hair, and that’s on the icky side for me too, but someone else’s hair, I just couldn’t do it. Sorry!
Sorry but I can find other mulches. I don’t want to encourage anything capable of breaking down human tissue in my garden.

rody to the max? No.I have composted hair in the ecompost bin for some time- canine, feline and human Hair is not nessecarily a renewable product though- just a look at my head would show you that!
hair is great for the soil, full of minerals. I’ve used it for years. what’s gross about hair?

That makes for a great addition to compost. WE always empty the vaccuum cleaner into the compost because it is always full of dog hair!
Why would this be more icky than poop? Really.

Hmm, I have a hair salon just down the street. Hadn’t thought of asking for floor sweepings. I agree with Joi — compared to poop, hair is pretty tame. The link showed a study comparing growth rates of peace lilies with and without mat but I’m wondering about the reference to ‘alternative to herbicide.’ Is the mat meant to be used as mulch or as a planting medium?
